Hey Tom, those are good points. I’m sure on the list of factors Costco considers when building a store and placing the food court, “how to make shoppers as hungry as possible when shopping” probably isn’t on it. Most likely whatever is feasible and practical given the location and space comes first.

And I think samples is an interesting thought! On one hand, you can argue they satiate you. On the other hand, maybe you are more likely to go to Costco hungry if you expect samples? I know for my family growing up, we would plan our lunch at Costco knowing that there is such an abundance of cheap/free food.
